Recruitment for the position of Executive Director
Established in 1979 as an NGO, the FIVDB has grown as a foremost regional development organisation, serving mainly the poor and women in greater Sylhet division. It also has its footprints in other parts of the country including the Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar. With a budget of several hundred crores of taka and a workforce of nearly a thousand, it works with the vision of creating a ‘vibrant society based on justice, democracy and environmentally sound principles’.
The Executive Director will work in close consultation with the Board of Directors and with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to provide overall leadership and direction. S/he will ensure that the organisation fulfills its goals, create strategies to ensure its future success, promote high performing culture and highest levels of accountability, measurement, quality and sustainability. S/he will have compassion and commitment towards poverty alleviation and empowerment of the poor and other vulnerable groups, demonstrated experience of leading large teams of co-workers and fund raising, deep knowledge and understanding of development issues in Bangladesh, track record of managing large-scale programmes, commitment to gender equality, excellent communication skills (both oral and written) in Bangla and English, an entrepreneurial mind, and good finance and budget management skills. The candidate must have an advanced university degree.
The position is based in Sylhet.
